Håkan Almkvist (Ensemble Nimbus, Flying Food Circus) from Uppsala (Sweden), is a passionate musician and obviously he loves the Orient. Thus he does not only play el. guitar, bass and percussion, but also perfectly Sitar, Tabla, Tanpura, Zither and he know how to use modern technology skillfully as well: Samples, loops and effects.
Now I could not state so far, to have any relation to Indian music. In the opposite: Eastern sound never touched me so far.
Due to my German Flying Food Circus fan pages, Håkan sent me recently a selection of CDs as a gift (thanks a lot!), including the productions of Orient Squeezers.
Even if these CDs seemed very strange to me - I wanted to listen the music at least once. Who wouldn't have done that?

After the first little culture shock I noticed soon, how simply I can dive into these hypnotising and reassuring sounds. The music is a mixture of modern, psychedelic and progressive Rock, and traditional Indian music as well. The result is astonishing.
Conclusion: "Hey I did not want that, but I like this music".
